I think you did a superb job.
The art is good, the animation is good, and on top of it; it tells an entire short story within seconds to anyone with an understanding of the KK boss.

(on the critique side of things: I'd say maybe when you have her look down after putting the shield up, maybe add a flash of light or something to hint off at the "activation" of an ability"
